The 12th annual Drakentein Hospice Spring Walk is the flagship community
fundraising activity for the organisation. It is also a recognition and
celebration of 21 years of service to the broader Drakenstein municipal
community. The walk was initiated and funded by Hospice volunteer and
current board member, Tommy Goliath and his son Andre in the year 2000
with just 281 walkers. It has grown over the years, peaking at 1240
walkers. The walk is a major, mass-participation fundraiser for DPH that
caters for the whole family and is the biggest community-family
charity walk in the Drakenstein municipality.
Entries for this race are now open, and they close on the 25th October - there after is a R15 late entry penalty.
The race is on the 27th October 2012, starting and ending at the Paarl Cricket Club grounds, with the pricing as follows:
3km Family Fun Walk:
- Adult + Child U8 = R25
- Open = R20
- Open = R30
- Licensed = R35
- Non-Licensed = R55
