Book now for accommodation at Evergreen Manor & Spa (021 886-6832) as you swing
into summer in style this year with the Helderberg Wine Festival from
Thursday, 15 November to Sunday 18 November. With around 30 wineries from Sir
Lowry’s Pass Village to Somerset West, the Baden Powell Rd area and
Stellenbosch participating, the 2012 festival offers a range of activities at
each cellar for young and old.
The
festival kicks off on Thursday with “The Six Senses Evening” from 18h00-21h00
at Waterkloof Wines where twenty three of the participating wineries and ten
restaurants are offering their wines for tasting and small portions of summery
tapas-style eats as part of the ticket price of R150 pp. (Includes tasting
glass, unlimited tastings and R100 vouchers for food items). Tickets on-line at
www.ticketbreak.co.za
or from the winery. Walk-ins welcome.

The event continues on Friday with live music, kiddies programmes, exhibitions, shows, food & craft markets, special festival dishes in the participating restaurants and award-winning wines which draw the crowds to this laid-back event over the four day period. Local charities always benefit and the festival organisors this year will support Amorim Cork’s “CorkLife project” which aims to create sustainable work opportunities by re-using old corks. Visitors and wineries will help to collect used corks and can deposit them into the branded boxes on display at most participating wineries. |
Festival packs are R75 pp for a one-day pass and R120 pp for a multi-day pass. A combination Six Senses & Multi-day pass is R240 pp (Save R30).Pre-bookings can be done at www.ticketbreak.co.za. For more information, visit our website at www.helderbergwinefestival.co.za.
