Doesn't it seem
fitting to book your Heritage Long Weekend away at a world renowned UNESCO
Heritage site, namely DE Hoop Nature Reserve?
Officially the area is South Africa's first private and public enterprise initiative between Cape Nature and the De Hoop Collection. The brains behind Madikwe Game Reserve, William Stephens and Carl Trielof, came up with the idea of cooperating with Cape Nature and re-inventing this incredibly beautiful and isolated area.

We have a
wide variety of accommodation facilities to choose from, fitting each and every
budget. From camping and caravanning sites and affordable self-catering chalets
to more luxurious self-catering cottages and five-star fully catered lodges.
The De Hoop Collection accommodation has something for everyone, from families
travelling on a limited budget, couples seeking a comfortable but affordable
breakaway to top-end fully inclusive weddings and honeymoons. Catered and self
catered options are available for most accommodation types.
The
reserve itself includes 70 km of rugged coastline and sandy beaches. One of the
highlights of this location is undoubtedly that it is one of the best whale
viewing sites on the globe. In addition, the De Hoop Marine Reserve is one of
the world's most important calving grounds for the southern right whale and an
important nursery area from which depleted angling species such as galjoen are
replenished. The area also has numerous dive sites where some have been lucky
enough to encounter whale sharks.
Whichever
De Hoop Cottage you choose, you'll be rewarded with unique memories. To explore
the magnificent De Hoop Collection and book your stay with us over Heritage Day
