Montagu Country Hotel: New Logo

We wish to thank each and every Montagu Country Hotel friend and fan for your feedback posted on our Facebook page a while ago in terms of our new logo. We value your input and we are always interested in hearing from you.

As Montagu Country Hotel is the only original Art Deco hotel in South Africa, we have decided on a logo that best reflect this old-world charm.

The name, Montagu Country Hotel will remain unchanged - we believe the word “country” beautifully describes the charm and countryside experience that is awaiting our guests when visiting Montagu or Route 62.

Agulhas Country Lodge: Self Drive the Whale Route

As summer is approaching, and the temperatures are rising, why not hit the road to see the wonders of our home?

Each year, Southern Right and Humpback whales migrate into the Southern Cape coastal waters to calve and nurse their young. These gentle giants know how to put on a show - breaching, lob tailing, flipper slapping - like the most practised of drama queens!

This Self-Drive Route  is known as the Whale Route. This route not only gives you great whale watching but takes you through quirky coastal villages, wonderful fynbos, and introduces you to sharks, penguins and seals, not to mention the birdlife.
Drive past lagoons and estuaries and when the day is gone, sip your sundowner on the edge of the ocean.

Southern Right Whale - Breaching

This route is best done in the whale season between July and Novermber, with the peak being right now, in October!
The length of this trip is approximately 560kms. It has so much to tempt the travela, and with most of it being off the beaten track, it's ultimately upt to you how long you want to take, where you want to dawdle, and where you'd prefer to overnight. Take your time - 3 to 4 days would be perfect!

Starting in Cape Town - Strand to Hermanus - Stanford, Dekelders and Gansbaai - Elim, Struisbaai and L'Agulhas - Arniston (Waenhuiskrans) - Bredasdorp - De Hoop Nature Reserve - Witsand - back onto the N2, and head home!

Take your hat, sunglasses, flip-flops, suncream and your camera!
If you dare to do this exciting trip - we want to see the pictures (and we welcome you with smiles, to stay at our Country Lodge at your stop-over in L'Agulhas).

Post your favourite snapshot from this trip onto our Facebook page, and share the magic that you were able to witness.

Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve: Help Out a Local Charity

SAVE A LIFE

Over the next two months, Plett Animal Welfare Service (PAWS), is hosting a number of events to help save some furry friends.

Why not make October or November the month to save a life?

PAWS started in the 1990's with the aim of providing animal welfare to the Bitou areas surrounding Plettenberg Bay.
This non-profit organisation, chaired by Mrs Di Butlin, currently operates a mobile Inspector who services 11 different townships in the Bitou area, namely Harkeville, Kwanokathula, Wittedrift, New Horizons, Green Valley, Bossiesgif, Plettenberg Bay, Kurland Village, Natures Valley and Covie.

Many of the residents in these townships live below the breadline and cannot afford even the most basic vetinary care for their animals.
PAWS relied on the genrosity of the Plett Community and regularly organises Fun-raising activities to sustain a basic service to these communities.

Every Wednesday, find your way down to Old Nicks where you'll be able to adopt a new friend!

Events to look forward to over the next two months - An Open Garden Day, a Car Boot Sale, and the PAWS Street Collection.

Make a difference this month, to someone who can't help themselves.

Keep an eye out on twitter @PlettGameRes and on Facebook for updates on any upcoming events for PAWS... We hope to see you there!
