De Zeekoe: Entrepreneurship Talk
Three weeks ago, we gave a local school, Van Reede, a talk on entrepreneurship.
What is the importance of entrepreneurship, you may ask?
An entrepreneur is someone who creates new wealth through the creation of new value.
That's taking a new concept and giving it value, and therefore making new money from it.
The importance of instilling this in the young minds of South Africa is the single most important activity in our economy. It is the only activity that enables enterprising South Africans to apply their mind to create new value, new wealth, new money and new jobs.
We're happy to play a role in the shaping of our country's future - and the children are where you need to start.
Eendracht Hotel: Koeksister's Galore!
From the beginning of the 19th century, life
at the Cape demonstrated “la dolce vita”.
“Eat and be merry”, they said
and ate the sweet “Koeksisters” at their festivities.
“Koeksisters” are
made from soft dough, cut up into strips, plaited, deep-fried
in oil, and then dipped in ice-cold spiced syrup.
These
mouth-watering treats are available at our very own Koffieklets
restaurant, situated in the hotel.
Go ahead... Try one... Or five!
Keep udated and follow @EendrachtHotel on Twitter, and keep an eye on their Facebook Page for more News and updates!

De Zeekoe: Horse Endurance Ride
On the 15th September, in conjuction with the CANSA Auction site, we hosted the Wynland Endurance Club in a horse endurance ride.
There was a 35km, 90km and a 120km race, where fifty riders gathered and tested their horses on the course.
The pre-vet check was completed at 7am and the ride briefing took place at 7:30am - the 120km entrants left at 6am.
The winner of the 90km completed in a time of 5 hours and 27 minutes - very impressive!
The first leg of the 35km was ridden through the De Zeekoe Meerkat Reserve, and we're very proud to have assisted in this event!

Van Loveren: More Beauty
Protea Farm: School Holidays are Approaching!
It’s getting closer and closer… Summer!
Which means it’s School Holiday Time!
What do you have planned to entertain your young ones? As
the holiday approaches – why not make a whole weekend out of it and visit us?
We offer 4 self-catering cottages, in the middle of untouched nature, where you can sit back, relax and un-wind in the tranquility.
The farm is close to Montagu with it's
wonderful wines and other home-made goodies.
The tractor pulling it's load of sightseers
will meander it's way up the Landeberg
Mountain to an altitude of 1500m above sea
level.
On the way you will have a birds eye view of
the Koo Valley and once at the top, you can
look down into the Robertson Valley below.
Then a quick stop at the mountain hut for a
surprise and you will be on your way down
again.
We look forward to seeing your smiling faces as you
celebrate with us!

Van Loveren: Beauty In & Out
The flowers pictured below are known as Red Cannas, and they demarcate all @vanloverenwines vineyards.
We are lucky to have the Cape Fold mountains, also pictured here, as a magnificent backdrop to our vineyards, making this our own little corner of heaven.
